How Does It Work?

  • Send your microfilms or microfiche to us via Recorded Delivery or courier, or we can arrange it for you.
  • Your microfilms or microfiche will be sent to our specialist scanning staff who will digitise your fiche or films.
  • Your microfilms or microfiche will be checked individually, ensuring the highest quality scan of each image.
  • Your documents will then be indexed to your requirements enabling you to search for specific words or phrases.
  • We will return electronic copies of your documents to you on CD, DVD or USB and can either securely dispose of, or return your originals.

Multi-format retrieval is easily achieved by having your old microfilm converted and your new paper files scanned.  They can then all be stored in one easy-to-use and secure retrieval system.

BMI Services also provide an aperture card scanning service.  Typically 35mm aperture cards hold plans, engineering drawings or diagrams.  Aperture CardsAperture cards are a similar document storage method to microfilm with images held on each individual card.  As with microfilm and microfiche, we can electronically convert your aperture cards and save them in a PDF or TIFF format all.
